How Does A Co-Op Work? A Co-Op is a community of like minded people joining together to lower the costs and time involved in a similar purchase. In this case the purchase is of certified organic produce. The Community Organic Connection offers certified organic fruits and vegetables year around. Each week members can view the variety of produce packages available right here. Then they submit their order to the coordinator they are working with. The coordinator gathers the orders from all the members working with them and submits the complete order to Lou and Carol Salerno. Lou and Carol compile all the orders from their coordinators and purchase the certified organic produce. The certified organic produce is then packaged by Lou and Carol and delivered directly to the coordinator. Each coordinator will then divide their order for their members and have their members pick up their orders at a location and time they have decided upon. There are no membership fees to join. Members are required to order weekly or bi-weekly. On going participation is necessary to insure the success of the coop. The Community Organic Connection is looking for members and coordinators in the Selinsgrove, Lewisburg, Williamsport, Danville, Bloomsburg and surrounding areas. |
